Around 90 kilometres of slopes, modern lift facilities, early opening hours from 7:30 am, and snow-reliable pistes up to 2,500 metres guarantee varied skiing experiences.

So close to the powder snow! Our Appart Stephan is located just 80 metres from the snow-covered Hochzillertal valley run – ideal for a comfortable ski-in / ski-out holiday. The Hochzillertal gondola base station is only about 350 metres away and easily reachable on foot. For additional comfort, a ski storage room with heated ski boot dryer is available in the house. Alternatively, you can rent a ski depot directly at the gondola base station with our partner Sport Stock.

The Hochzillertal ski area also offers ideal conditions for beginners and families with children. Professional ski schools with children's courses and practice areas ensure a safe and enjoyable start to skiing. Thanks to the short walking distance from Appart Stephan to the gondola and ski schools, both children and adults can reach their ski lessons easily on foot – perfect for a relaxed and family-friendly ski holiday in the Zillertal.

Ski Areas in the Zillertal & Zillertal Superskipass

With the Zillertal Superskipass, you can enjoy unlimited skiing across all ski areas in the Zillertal. In addition to the Hochzillertal–Hochfügen ski area, you also have access to Spieljoch, Zillertal Arena, the Mayrhofen ski areas, and the Hintertux Glacier.

The Superskipass can be conveniently purchased online in advance, allowing you to start skiing right away without waiting times. The Zillertal is especially known for its excellent snow reliability – with skiing available at elevations of over 3,000 metres on the Hintertux Glacier, skiing is possible almost all year round.

This makes the Zillertal an ideal destination for a varied and snow-sure ski holiday in Tyrol.

Winter Hiking & Snowshoeing in the Zillertal

Besides skiing, the Zillertal offers many opportunities for winter hiking in a beautiful snow-covered mountain landscape. The scenic and snow-reliable high valleys in particular provide tours of various difficulty levels – from easy walks to more challenging mountain routes – and are an ideal addition to your ski holiday.

Tobogganing & Ice Skating around Kaltenbach

A fun toboggan run with a cosy mountain hut stop is part of every perfect winter holiday in the Zillertal. Particularly popular is the floodlit toboggan run in the Zillertal Arena, about 7 km long, as well as the varied toboggan run at Spieljoch with a length of around 5.5 km. Free toboggan runs can also be found at the Goglhof in Fügen and in Hochfügen – ideal for extra winter fun while keeping your holiday budget under control.

A great alternative is ice skating in Kaltenbach: The artificial ice rink at the Kaboom leisure centre is just a few minutes’ walk from Appart Stephan and is especially popular with families and children.
